Lavender Wisteria!!

Drove all the way up 131 towards old Stonelick  Lake. Off to the right is a wonderful, well established nursery. Its called Grants and the green house is all plastic. Today the wind was high and forceful sending the plastic sides and top of the greenhouses to  shift, buckle and snap!! loudly.  It felt like a freight train was going through and with each severe snap! I would flinch. My apprehension gave way to excitement as I spotted  lovely holly bushes (a steal at $9.99) and ground juniper, which the birds adore. .....A small blooming lilac tree, its flowers the scent from heaven.  I could have spent $1000 without batting an eye (had I $1000).

But what I have been awaiting all year was the month the Wisteria comes out. And today was the day. I bought a very stripped down, mousy brown, budless wisteria tree. Looks like a couple of sticks fastened to a bamboo shaft. I scraped the trunk with my fingernail. Donna told me if there is green underneath, the plant is very much alive. Yes!! Its green. And I am elated.
Right next to it were the grape vines. I bought two vines of green grapes. They are quick growing and should cover my fence nicely. The foliage is beautiful, especially in fall when it turns russet in color. And I will have grapes to harvest!!
I'm off to a good season. My heart is so joyful right now.
I look forward to tomorrow. I will prepare the soil and hopefully plant! But no. I just remembered. Tomorrow is Easter. I go to Mike's. I am looking forward to seeing all the family.
So hopefully this coming week I will get to settling in my new additions. Something to look forward to . That puts a smile on my face.
